A PROUD TRADITION...
• Over 2000 students have graduated from Sacred Heart School in its 100-plus years of existence.
• In June 2002, approximately 400 of these graduates gathered to celebrate the schools' 100th birthday, to share memories, and to reacquaint with classmates.
• Our proud alumni include CEO's, entrepreneurs, teachers, principals, nuns, priests, parents, and many more. They contribute to their Church and communities in accordance with their proud Sacred Heart tradition.
A VIBRANT PRESENT...
• Sacred Heart School presently educates over 300 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight. Students receive a challenging, traditional academic curriculum, blended with a solid grounding in spirituality .
• Students are educated in an intimate environment, averaging 17 students per classroom. They receive the benefits of age-specific education methodologies, while thriving in the school community that spans a wide range of ages.
• Excellent academics are reflected in student achievement. Standardized testing scores are consistantly above the national norms. Many of our students continue to excel in high school and attain advanced placement classes and honor roll status.
• The highly-qualified faculty combines many years of teaching experience, and Sister Kathleen Donnelly, O.P., principal and Sacred Heart School graduate, creates an atmosphere of warmth, vision and academic excellence.
• Sacred Heart School students plan and attend weekly masses and holiday prayer and reconciliation services, as well as daily religion classes. An emphasis on service is reflected in the many service projects initiated and completed by students in recent years.
A Bright Future
• Chicago Magazine in the fall of 2006 voted Sacred Heart as one of the Top 25 Best Private Elementary Schools in the Chicagoland Area. We are proud of this accolade and strive to constantly meet the needs of an ever-changing student body.
