Goals of the Sacred Heart School junior high mathematics program include helping students to develop:

The ability to solve a variety of problems through a logical, critical and analytical process;
The ability to communicate in the language of mathematics;
The ability to use technology, such as the graphing calculator, as a tool;
The ability to make connections; and
An appreciation of the beauty of mathematics.
- An increased confidence in mathematical abilities.

Some specifics of the curriculum by grade level include:
For sixth grade – problem solving, fractions, decimals, percentages, statistics, integers, geometry, and an introduction to pre-algebra.
For seventh grade – pre-algebra, including rational numbers, geometry, solving equations and inequalities, functions, and graphing.
For eighth grade – algebra 1 course, including solving more complex equations, polynomials, factoring, rational expressions, graphing linear equations, systems of open sentences, solutions to linear combinations, and quadratics.
