Sacred Heart School junior high students enjoy use of the newly-remodeled and state-of-the-art-equipped science laboratory. Students are required to keep a notebook of science class notes and lab activities. Various projects and a current events journal reinforce science concepts and the use of scientific methods.

Specifics of the science curriculum by grade level include:

• For sixth grade – inside the earth, astronomy, earth's waters, weather and climate.
• For seventh grade – earth's waters, inside the earth, weather and climate and the earth's changing surface.
• For eighth grade – chemical building blocks, cells and heredity, chemical interactions, and earth’s waters.
